Decadent Chocolate-Covered Brownie Bars

Tools You’ll Need

  • Mixing bowl

  • Whisk and spatula

  • 8×8 or 9×9-inch baking pan

  • Parchment paper

  • Double boiler or microwave-safe bowl

  • Cutting knife

  • Fork or dipping tool

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Brownie Base

Start by melting the butter in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl. Once melted, stir in the sugar until combined. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until the mixture becomes glossy and smooth.

Next, gently fold in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined. Overmixing can make your brownies cakier, so stop as soon as the dry ingredients disappear. If you like, fold in chocolate chips or nuts for added texture.

Step 2: Bake the Brownies

Line your baking pan with parchment paper, then pour in the batter, spreading it evenly. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly soft. The smell of chocolate filling your kitchen is your signal—it’s time!

Step 3: Cool Completely

Allow the brownies to cool fully in the pan. This step is crucial because cold brownies cut more cleanly and will hold their shape better when dipped in chocolate.

Step 4: Slice Into Bars

Once cooled, lift the brownies from the pan using the parchment paper and place on a cutting board. Slice into bars or squares, depending on your preferred size.

Step 5: Dip in Chocolate

Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or microwave, adding a teaspoon of coconut oil if you want a smoother, shinier finish. Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each brownie piece into the melted chocolate, letting any excess drip off. Place the dipped brownies on parchment paper to set.

Step 6: Chill & Serve

Refrigerate the dipped brownies for 10–15 minutes until the chocolate hardens. Then, dig in—try not to devour them all at once!
